Breakfast Program

Holy Trinity is fortunate to have a wonderful group of volunteers who run our breakfast program. Our program that runs throughout the year is funded through President’s Choice Children’s Charity. This program offers a variety of delicious and nutritious meals to our students on a regular basis. Additionally, for the months of January- June our students are fortunate to participate in the Northern Fruits and Vegetables Program. The Northern Fruit and Vegetable Program serves two servings of fresh fruit or vegetables to every student per week. This program focuses on giving out Ontario-grown produce.

FitSpirit

FitSpirit is an initiative that encourages young women to be and stay active. Through fun and fitness the aim of the program is to encourage positive experiences and to build a community of friendship and support. At Holy Trinity we have an enthusiastic group of young ladies from grades 4-6 who regularly participate in fitness activities to support strength and endurance. Over the course of the last couple of months the ladies have participated in circuit training, jogging, Yoga and Step aerobics. At the end of the program in June the FitSpirit team along with the coaching staff will participate in a celebratory 5k run.  The celebration run is to acknowledge the hard work and dedication from the FItSpirit team.

Lego Robotics

Members of the robotics club at Holy Trinity practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. They prepare for and compete in the FIRST LEGO League competition. They research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology, then compete on a table-top playing field.

They have fun while they learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve a problem. Along their discovery journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and even presentation skills, as they must present their solutions to judges.
