Today, our Kindergarten students in Mrs. Yasko, Mr. Vicedomini, Ms. Julie, and Mr. Nick’s class had a blast learning all about Groundhog Day! Using heart shapes, they crafted the most adorable groundhog creations while exploring the fun tradition behind this special day.
After their crafts were complete, our young learners made their predictions—will we see an early spring, or are we in for six more weeks of winter? ❄️🌸 What do you think?
Today, our Kindergarten students at Holy Trinity Catholic School joyfully welcomed the Chinese New Year with a day full of creativity, learning, and fun!
Guided by their wonderful educators—Mrs. Yasko, Mr. Vicedomini, Ms. Julie, and Mr. Nick—our young learners created vibrant, hand-crafted lanterns, symbolizing hope and prosperity. They also enjoyed a captivating story that helped them explore the rich traditions and cultural significance of this special holiday.
This year, we celebrate the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom and transformation. We look forward to all the new beginnings and exciting opportunities this year will bring!
At Sudbury Catholic Schools, we cherish these moments of cultural exploration, helping our students develop a deeper appreciation for the diverse traditions that make our world so special. ❤️🌏
Today, Holy Trinity School had the privilege of celebrating Family Literacy Day with an exciting series of activities that brought the joy of reading to life. Our students and staff dressed as their favorite storybook characters, creating an atmosphere of creativity and imagination. From beloved heroes to whimsical creatures, the day was filled with enthusiasm for literature.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this day a success. The event showcased the power of reading and how it can bring people together, fostering a lifelong love of books.
Here are some of the highlights from today’s celebration:
Mrs. Yoon, Ms. Brittany, Ms. Paige, and Ms. Nancy’s FDK Class: The students in this class enjoyed reading Stephanie’s Ponytail, as well as other favorite stories. The day was filled with shared moments of joy, family time, and tasty treats.
Mrs. Yasko, Mr. Vicedomini, Ms. Julie, and Mr. Nick’s Kindergarten Classes: Families joined their children for a cozy reading session, complete with PJs and shared stories. Each child had the opportunity to create a bookmark to take home as a keepsake of this special day.
Mrs. Tompkins and Mrs. Meyer’s Class: Students in this class participated in an engaging literacy and math-based scavenger hunt. Parents were invited to join the fun, making it a memorable and interactive experience for all.
Mme Jessica and Mme Angèle’s Kindergarten Class: This group of young actors brought to life three classic stories—Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and Little Red Riding Hood. With props and enthusiasm, the students performed for their parents, delivering a heartwarming and magical presentation.
Holy Trinity is truly grateful to have had the opportunity to share such a meaningful celebration of reading with our students and their families. As we reflect on the highlights of this day, we look forward to continuing to inspire and encourage a love of reading within our school community for all current and future learners in our care.
This year, Holy Trinity School proudly participated in the Bell Let’s Talk initiative, aiming to raise awareness and spark meaningful conversations about mental health. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to four incredible students—Sofia, Aimelia, Bella, and Anya—along with Ms. Michelle, for bringing their creative vision to life with the “Let’s Taco ‘Bout It!” Day.
The students crafted interactive paper tacos, each filled with a range of emotions like stressed, happy, hopeful, and anxious. These tacos provided a fun and approachable way to reflect on and express our feelings, helping everyone connect and engage in open conversations about mental health.
Throughout the day, we visited 11 classrooms, discussing the importance of mental health, identifying various emotions, and exploring healthy coping strategies. We were also thrilled to have Coach Logan and player Louis from the Sudbury Five basketball team join us. They shared their personal experiences with stress and mental health, offering an inspiring message of honesty, resilience, and strength.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this day a success. Special thanks to Coach Logan and Louis for sharing their stories and reminding us all of the importance of taking care of our mental well-being.
